Train companies release tickets several months in advance, allowing you to book early and enjoy lower fares:

OUIGO: up to 9 months in advance
TGV INOUI, Intercités, TER: 3 to 4 months in advance
Eurostar: 6 months in advance
TGV Lyria: 6 months in advance
DB SNCF: 6 months in advance

Ticket sale openings, which mark the release of tickets for specific periods (e.g., holidays, events), also provide an opportunity to book early.

Legal notices for the €39 tickets between Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Avignon and Geneva/Lausanne:
Variable price depending on booking anticipation, starting from €39 one-way in Standard Class (2nd class) on TGV Lyria trains only. Price includes all taxes per person, reservation included. Valid for travel either from Geneva or Lausanne to Marseille (and vice versa), excluding connections from stations on lines serving these destinations. Exchange and refund conditions depend on the level of flexibility (full/partial/no flexibility).
For tickets with partial flexibility: the ticket can be exchanged (with a €25 fee) and refunded before departure (with a €40 fee) per journey and per person. For tickets with full flexibility, exchanges and refunds are free and unlimited. Excluding exchange rate variations, distributor fees, and any fare difference for a ticket with partial flexibility.
