Travel with TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes

Several passes are available if you plan to travel frequently on TER AURA:

Are you a student? The region and SNCF offer great deals to help you travel at a lower cost. Want to subscribe to a TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes plan? Take advantage of the Illico monthly or weekly youth pass, which gives you unlimited travel on a set route, plus a 75% discount on other journeys. There is also the Illico (monthly or weekly) youth interregional pass, for travel between Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and a neighboring region. Travelling occasionally? Choose the Illico Liberté Jeunes card, the TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes card for students! For €15 a year, enjoy 50% off your tickets all year round.

The SNCF Connect website and app offer TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes tickets at low prices. Just enter your departure and arrival stations, as well as the date you want to travel.

Bikes are welcome on board and travel free of charge. However, it is best to avoid peak times and high-traffic trains. Folding bikes are recommended, as space is limited (11 bikes per train), and these spots are in high demand among commuters.

Pets are indeed allowed on board. However, a few conditions must be met to ensure a pleasant journey for everyone: 

• Small pets (under 6 kg) must travel with a €7 ticket, in a carrier measuring no more than 45×30×25 cm.
• Larger animals (over 6 kg) must travel with a half-price ticket based on the standard second-class fare. Dogs must be muzzled and kept on a lead throughout the journey

You can request a full refund for your TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes ticket up to the day before departure. After that time, your ticket becomes non-exchangeable and non-refundable. If you purchased your ticket on the SNCF Connect website, be sure to have your booking reference and the name used to place the order. Please note that TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes tickets are valid for all trains running on the selected day. This means you can take any train on the same day and on the same route.
