Formed from the merger of the TER Auvergne and TER Rhône-Alpes networks in 2017, TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes was one of the first regional networks in France to test on-board Wi-Fi, first on the Mâcon–Lyon–Valence line, and later on Lyon–Roanne–Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon–Bourg-en-Bresse and Lyon–Grenoble routes.
