Each passenger can take one item of hand luggage and one additional item of luggage free of charge. Conventional bicycles are accepted on ICE, IC and EC trains with a bicycle ticket and mandatory booking. Folding bicycles and children's bicycles can be carried free of charge as hand luggage. Tandems and tricycles are allowed on certain trains with a booking at an agency. In the regions, a bicycle ticket is required but without a seat booking.

Small animals travel free of charge in a closed container placed under your seat or in the luggage racks. Large dogs must have a ticket (50% of the adult fare), be muzzled and kept on a leash. Guide and assistance dogs travel free of charge, without a ticket or muzzle.
