Your card payments are completely secure on SNCF Connect, thanks to:

  • encryption of payment pages
  • the 3D Secure authentication system
  • the protection of your bank data

The encryption of pages for secure payment

Your data is encrypted and protected by the SSL/TLS protocol when you book on the SNCF Connect website.
The URL address starts with https://, with an "s" for "security", and guarantees maximum security on the website.
A small padlock also appears on the left-hand side of the address bar.

The SNCF Connect mobile app guarantees you the same security features.

3D Secure payment

When you make an online payment, your bank is asked whether it will authorise the transaction or not. With the 3D Secure system, it requires authentication of the cardholder and validates the transaction only if you confirm your identity.

The 3D Secure authentication procedure on SNCF Connect

Step 1:

Book your ticket and enter your bank details.

Step 2:

A page managed by your bank is displayed to verify the identity of the cardholder.
Once you have validated your bank details, you will be transferred to your bank's website.
In the 3D Secure window that appears, the authentication procedure to be followed is specific to each bank.

You may be asked to:

  • enter a unique code received by text message,
  • connect to your banking app to validate the transaction,
  • answer a personal question,
  • enter your date of birth,
  • or any other method your bank chooses to authenticate you.

When you place your order, check that you have mobile phone service and that you can receive the 3DS authentication text message (operator restrictions, order from abroad, network coverage, etc.).

Step 3:

Complete and validate your order

After confirmation from the bank, your payment is validated and your transaction completed.
You will then receive your booking confirmation by e-mail.

If you have any questions about the 3D Secure protocol (obtaining, loss, modification, etc.) or the authentication procedure, please contact your bank.

The security of bank data

Protecting your bank data being passed to banks

Your bank details pass through the SIPS bank transaction processing system of Worldline, the European leader in secure payment systems.

Your bank card number is transmitted via secure connections (https).
They are stored in a highly secure digital safe by our Worldline technology.
The number is sent to the banking network in encrypted form.

Protecting your bank data on SNCF Connect

Your bank card number is not stored in the website's sales history and no one can access it.
Your bank card is encrypted when you pay, and only a unique identifier corresponding to the transaction is saved.

On your Customer Account, the function for saving your bank card number has a very high level of security.
Every time you make a purchase, you will be asked to enter your card's visual cryptogram (3 digits on the back), to make it even more secure.

If abnormal use of your Customer Account is detected, the bank cards saved will be immediately deleted from your Customer Account.

SNCF Connect and its partners are regularly audited by experts specialising in IT security.

American Express SafeKey

American Express SafeKey makes your Internet purchases secure. It requires authentication when you make payments on SNCF Connect, and validates that you are indeed the holder of the card used.

You will be authenticated by entering a one-time code which will be sent to you by e-mail and/or telephone.

All you need to do is keep your contact details up to date: email address and mobile phone number.

Each time you make a payment with your American Express Card on SNCF Connect, enter the one-time code sent to you by text message or email (depending on the details provided for your American Express Card).

The one-time code is checked in real time. Your online transaction is processed immediately.

You will receive the one-time code on your mobile phone and/or at your e-mail address according to the details you previously provided on your American Express card account.

You can now add your American Express card to Apple Pay. To add your card, go to "Settings" on your iPhone, "Wallet & Apple Pay" and click on "Add card".
