La Rochelle

Book a train ticket

La Rochelle has a thousand-year-old history with as many twists and turns as a novel by Alexandre Dumas! From the high tower of Saint-Nicolas which dominates the port, the cobbled arteries of the old town are filled with mysteries but are also charming! The 19th century market halls, the Saint-Louis cathedral or the arcades of the shopping streets are just a few examples of the city's treasures.

Summer is the perfect time to discover La Rochelle and its outdoor activities such as sea fishing. But it is not the autumn rain that will interfere with your stay! Between the aquarium, the Maritime Museum or the Fine Arts Museum, there is enough to do indoors. And in winter, you can enjoy a meal worthy of a king in the oyster bars or gourmet restaurants of the city.

Right here!

In June 1980, Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford met in La Rochelle for the filming of the first episode of the Indiana Jones saga. The city's submarine base is to serve as the background for one of the scenes in the film. But despite the resources deployed, no one will notice the shooting. It is only when it is released in theaters that the Rochelais will recognize the presence of their city!
