Not far from the border of Spain, Biarritz reveals its beaches and picturesque neighborhoods in the hollow of the golfe de Gascogne. Due to its geographical location, the city is open to sea winds which create a characteristic microclimate. The temperatures, between 8 and 25 ° C, are pleasant there all year round. Turned towards its coastline suitable for nautical activities, the town seduces its visitors with its high-end infrastructures inherited from the imperial period. And you, are you going to try surfing or try your luck at the casino?

To enjoy the coastline, beaches and surf spots, plan to visit Biarritz between May and October. You can also explore the surroundings and hike on the trails of the Silver Coast. In winter, the seaside resort is much quieter, but there are always activities to do. In case of bad weather, you can for example discover the collections of marine animals and birds of the museum of the sea. Today it is part of the Biarritz Océan complex, together with the city of the ocean and the surf and aquarium.

The Hôtel du Palais is built on the ruins of the residence that Napoleon III shared with Eugenie. This palace is appreciated by wealthy visitors. Even if it is not visible at first glance, the building is a tribute to its previous owner, Empress Eugenie. That's why it's shaped like an E! During the Empire, the palace was one of the most prominent places in all of Europe. It notably hosted Queen Victoria and the Empress of Austria.
