Tickets and classes available on the Paris - Rotterdam Eurostar (Thalys) service

SNCF Connect offers three different classes for the Paris - Rotterdam Eurostar train: Eurostar Standard for cheaper tickets, equivalent to a TGV INOUI second class fare; Eurostar Plus for more space and comfort; and Eurostar Premier for the utmost comfort and extra services.

Eurostar Standard

The Eurostar Standard class offers low-cost fares to Rotterdam from Paris. Your Eurostar Standard ticket includes:

• Individual electrical socket
• Free Wi-Fi connection
• Access to the buffet car (drinks, meals and snacks available)
• 2 pieces of carry-on luggage and 1 piece of hand luggage

Eurostar Standard tickets can be exchanged free of charge up to 1 hour before the train's initial departure time. If your replacement ticket is more expensive, you will have to pay the difference. If it's cheaper, you won't be offered a refund. Eurostar Standard tickets are also refundable with a €25 charge per person/per journey up to 7 days before the date of departure. A ticket exchanged less than 7 days before the departure date is non-refundable.

Eurostar Plus

The Eurostar Plus class offers a superior of level of comfort, so you settle back and relax throughout your journey from Paris to Rotterdam. Your Eurostar Plus ticket includes:

• A comfy, wider seat
• Individual electrical socket
• Free Wi-Fi connection
• Access to the buffet car (drinks, meals and snacks available)
• 2 pieces of carry-on luggage and 1 piece of hand luggage
• A warm welcome when you reach the platform

Eurostar Premier tickets are exchangeable and refundable free of charge up to 1 hour after the departure time. If you exchange your ticket, any price difference between the old and new ticket will apply.

Eurostar child fares (formerly Thalys)

Children under the age of 4 can travel free of charge and without a ticket if they sit on your lap: they won't be guaranteed a seat. If you are travelling with a child under the age of 12 (on the departure date), you'll be pleased to know there's a flat children's fare.

How much luggage can I take on board the Paris - Rotterdam Eurostar train?

With the Eurostar to Rotterdam from Paris, you can take up to 2 pieces of carry-on luggage per person (3 if you have a Eurostar Premier ticket) measuring a maximum of 75 x 53 x 30 cm, plus one piece of hand luggage. There's no weight restriction, but you must be able to carry and move your luggage yourself. Remember to label your luggage, and don't forget it when you arrive at your destination!

Taking a bike on the Paris - Rotterdam Eurostar

There are only a few bike storage spaces on Eurostar trains. For non-folding bikes, the wheels must be dismantled and the bike stored in a bag no larger than 135 x 85 x 30 cm if it's to be allowed on board. If you're travelling with a bike please arrive at the platform 30 minutes before the train's departure.
Folding bicycles are treated as normal luggage if they measure no more than 75 x 53 x 30cm.

Can I travel with my pet on the Paris - Rotterdam Eurostar train?

Do you own a pet? You can take it on your Eurostar train subject to the following conditions:

• Small pets weighing under 6 kg can travel free of charge in a pet carrier no bigger than 45 x 30 x 25 cm
• If your pet isn't travelling in a carrier you'll have to pay the €30 "Dog fare": please contact the train manager. Your pet must be placed on your lap, or kept on a lead at your feet and, for the safety of other passengers, wear a muzzle.
