The Tupina (the cauldron in Basque): local land and traditions
Jean-Pierre Xiradakis, a restaurateur passionate about his region, opened this bistro 40 years ago. Everything is made with local produce, sourced directly from the best local producers and cooked to suit the season. Around the large fireplace, you can choose between a duck confit, a cut of beef, or even fish from the Gironde estuary.
Choose your wine from amongst the 200 carefully selected vintages, and rely on the advice of the oenologist to choose the one best suited to you!

Miles Restaurant: creative and refined cuisine
The team of the Miles Restaurant is made up of two young restaurateur couples who met whilst studying. They wanted to create a place with a warm atmosphere and creative and refined cuisine. A good idea is to go at lunchtime and opt for "Le petit Miles”, €18 for a main course of your choice and dessert, or “the 4 Miles” (a sampling menu with 4 dishes) for €25. Michel's: the atmosphere of a vintage bistro

In the Antiquaries district, near La Cité du vin, insiders know the Virginia restaurant, situated in a renovated building by the Quartier des Chartrons, where artist friends' paintings are also exhibited. Discovered by the famous culinary blogger, Gilles Pudlowski, this little gem is one of the excellent little places in Bordeaux. Salmon gravlax with dill chantilly, cream of white sweet potato with turmeric and coriander, roasted tomato with mozzarella and pesto... The market produce is cooked to perfection, the hospitality is lovely and it is good value for money. What more is there to say: get down there!

Daniel Gallacher is a young chef from Scotland, who trained in the kitchens of Plaza Athénée with Alain Ducasse. It is located in the centre of Bordeaux and offers a simple set menu: A single menu that changes daily costs 17 euros for lunch and 25 euros for dinner with a choice of 2 starters, 2 main courses and 2 desserts.
