Grenoble Station

All you need to know

Grenoble station is the main railway station in the Isère department. It has seven tracks and four platforms, with annual traffic estimated at more than 6 million passengers. Its geographical location and high traffic make it a major transport site in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

The station is divided into two buildings. The first, facing east, leads to Grenoble city centre. It houses waiting rooms, several shops and information desks. The second building, facing west, has a large waiting room, a food outlet and a freely accessible piano. For people with reduced mobility, the Accès Plus service offers assistance and practical facilities to make it easier for everyone to get around the station.

Getting to Grenoble station

Because of its local importance, the station is very well served by Grenoble's public transport. A true multimodal interchange, it can be reached by tram (lines A and B) and bus to the "Gare" station and the stop of the same name on the TAG network.

Main destinations from Grenoble station

For your journeys, you can use both TGV trains and the various regional trains on the TER network.

A key regional station, Grenoble lets you reach the capital on a TGV INOUI in under 3 hours: many return services run every day via Lyon Saint-Exupéry to Paris Gare de Lyon. In winter, OUIGO takes you to Paris or the Alps (to Bourg-Saint-Maurice). For regional destinations, many TER services run all year round, first and foremost to Lyon, but also to Valence, Chambéry, Aix-les-Bains, Annecy and Avignon, among others.

There is a bus station on site, with many journeys to towns in the region. Several coach companies, such as Flixbus and BlaBlaCar Bus, serve the station, which is also used by the Zou! regional express lines.
