Clermont-Ferrand station is a railway station that plays a major role in transport in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Located on the Château-Rouge site, around one kilometre from the city centre, it welcomes around 4 million passengers each year.

The station has a large kerb-free forecourt, fully sheltered under a glass canopy. It has a bicycle park and a 400-space multi-storey car park for vehicles. A drop-off area is also available. While waiting for your train, you can stroll in the nearby Square de la Jeune Résistance, ideal for a picnic. A nearby sight worth seeing is the Basilica of Notre-Dame-du-Port, a Romanesque church listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Getting to Clermont-Ferrand station

To get there, you can take the urban buses of the Clermont-Ferrand metropolitan area. The T2C network serves the station with several lines. In summer, a shuttle bus runs to the Vulcania park in around 40 minutes.

Main destinations from Clermont-Ferrand station

The station has 8 tracks and 4 platforms, offering many journeys. INTERCITÉS trains run several return services every day to Paris, arriving at Paris Bercy Bourgogne - Pays d'Auvergne station. Trains to and from Toulouse and Lyon are also available. On the TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes network, many destinations are offered in all directions, including Moulins, Montluçon, Issoire, Aurillac and Thiers.

The SNCF station has a very busy bus terminal offering a wide selection of coach journeys. Several interurban lines (Cars Région, LiO, TransCreuse) are available.
