Eastern France

Book a train ticket

The east of France is the only region bordering to four countries: Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland. Grand Est is therefore very European! You probably know the region for the Alsatian flamekueche, the Strasbourg Christmas markets, the Reims cathedral, the baroque style of Nancy or the pretty gardens along the Moselle in Metz.

The call of winter and the holidays will take you straight to the incredible Strasbourg Christmas markets. In autumn, visit the Champagne vineyards and the Champagne cellars of Reims. When the fine weather arrives, plan a visit to the astonishing Haut-Kœnigsbourg Castle and cool off in the cascades of the Vosges mountains and the lakes of the Pays de Langres.

Right here!

Legend has it that a huge lake is enthroned under Strasbourg Cathedral. During the time of Louis XIV, a soldier even tried to access it by going through a well in front of the building. He failed like many after him but the rumor persists. Underground galleries dating from Roman times have even been discovered under the cathedral, thus reigniting the debate. Case to follow.
