Le Rafiot

In a picture-perfect setting along the Quai des Pêcheurs, you can find a blue boat worthy of Captain Haddock himself . Le Rafiot, a bar and club, has one of the best terraces in Strasbourg.

You can savour a drink on the deck (which is covered in case of rain) nearly any day of the week, letting yourself be gently rocked by the water. Their mojitos* are particularly good.

La Corde à Linge

Located in the authentic neighbourhood of La Petite France, La Corde à Linge is not to be missed. Its paved terrace located directly on the water and shaded by hundred-year-old plane trees is very popular in spring and summer.

The restaurant serves typical Alsatian food and drinks. This is a perfect place to order spätzle, the traditional pasta of the region, if you’ve never tried it before!

Café Bâle

Café Bâle has a terrace with some one hundred seats in front of it. The vintage-inspired decor inside this cafe is very charming, but so are the street and the pedestrian-only Place d’Austerlitz in front of it!

Café Bâle is open 7 days a week from morning til night and offers a menu that changes over the course of the day, including a wide selection of cocktails. It’s an excellent place to end the day in summer.

After a long walk through the Parc de l'Orangerie, we suggest heading to the restaurant “Le Jardin de l’Orangerie”. With its large wooden tables and lake views, it’s the perfect place to relax on a Sunday afternoon.

The food menu may be a bit pricey, but the drinks are fairly affordable. Tip: There’s also a bowling alley inside!

Just a few steps away from the Strasbourg Cathedral and the thousands of tourists who flock to visit it each year, there is a small haven of peace called Place Gayot. This small, sunny cobblestone square surrounded by old Alsatian houses is accessible by way of the city’s car-free streets.

It’s an ideal spot to bring your sweetheart for a cup of tea or coffee. There are several terraces on the square, but Le Gayot is always a safe bet. This café/restaurant offers a traditional menu cooked with fresh local produce.

Le Wawa

The WaWa, located next to the university, is a bar where no one takes themselves too seriously. The music bounces from one type to the next with no regard for so-called “good taste”, and the terrace is large enough for big groups of friends.

You will hardly notice the time passing, too absorbed by the ambiance of the bar and the surrounding Krutenau neighbourhood, one of the most festive in Strasbourg.
