SNCF Commitments

At SNCF, our priority is the safety of our customers before and during their entire journey. Discover our three health commitments. Enjoy your journey!

Protect yourself and others

Masks are no longer mandatory on SNCF trains. However, during busy periods, we strongly recommend that anyone over the age of 11 wears a surgical mask or a FFP2 mask.

Allow our customers to wash their hands in all circumstances

  • In SNCF stations and shops, hydroalcoholic gel is provided.
  • On board of trains, conductors and cleaners check the water and soap stocks to ensure that you can wash your hands during your journey. In the event of a soap shortage, hydroalcoholic gel will be provided and made available to you by the staff.

Ensuring trains, shops and stations are clean

  • SNCF shops are regularly cleaned, and windows have been added to ticket offices to minimise the risk of viruses spreading between the staff and customers.
  • On board the trains, the cleaning staff have intensified their cleaning procedures: disinfection is carried out several times a day with a virucide product. In the event of a suspected infection in all or part of the train, a total disinfection procedure is initiated (fumigation, etc.).
