What we call “Sales opening” is quite simply the moment from which you can reserve tickets for a given period of time.
Under normal circumstances, you can buy your train tickets 4 months in advance.
TGV INOUI and NTERCITÉS : you can normally book your tickets 4 months in advance. Exceptional fixed-date sales openings are planned for the Christmas, winter, spring and summer vacation periods.

Tickets are available for booking between 3 and 5 months before departure, depending on the region.

Tickets are progressively available for sale 6 months before departure.
Careful : certain works can affect sales openings!
Concerning return tickets, the sales opening is staggered between the outbound and return journeys. To reserve a return ticket, you must therefore wait for the sales opening of the return journey! If not, opt for a separate purchase: first the outbound journey, then the return once it becomes available.
