Transporting your bicycle on board the train
Bicycles are welcome on SBB trains. You can transport your personal bicycle in the areas provided, including in the IC2000 cars on the lower level. Groups of cyclists (10 people or more) can benefit from specially adapted services on booking. Folding bicycles can be transported as hand luggage, without a specific ticket. For other types of bicycles, we recommend checking transport conditions and booking in advance, especially during busy periods.

Small animals, up to the size of a cat, can travel free of charge on SBB trains if they are transported in a closed cage or bag, placed under the seat or in the luggage racks. For dogs, a specific ticket is required and can be purchased via the SNCF Connect application. Dogs must be kept on a leash and remain on the floor during the journey.

Large items of luggage can be stowed in the racks at the entrance or between the seats, medium-sized items above, and small items under your seat. Recommended dimensions are 70 × 50 × 30 cm. Well stowed folding strollers, mobility aids, scooters and folding bicycles are also permitted. Luggage must not inconvenience other passengers or block exits.

Conventional bicycles are accepted on ICE, IC and EC trains with a bicycle ticket and mandatory booking. Folding bicycles and children's bicycles can be carried free of charge as hand luggage. Tandems and tricycles are allowed on certain trains with a booking at an agency. In the regions, a bicycle ticket is required but without a seat booking.
