Surfing
The Basque Country loves surfing and Biarritz is one of its capitals! Surfers meet on the main beach, a pretty location lined with colourful beach huts. Those who prefer long boarding for more accessible big wave surfing head out to the Plage de la Côte des Basques. It’s a charming location from which to see the Virgin’s Rock and Villa Belza overlooking the sea. This unique building, with its own keep, is close to the Pont du Diable (Devil’s Bridge), and as its name means 'black' in Basque, there are plenty of legends about the place.
Just above the Plage de la Côte des Basques, you’ll find the 100 Steps, a café with sea views by day, and a famous, trendy tapas bar by night.

Going out with friends
South of Biarritz, the Blue Cargo (Plage d’ilbarritz, 64210 Bidart) is on the beach. This beach restaurant has chairs facing the sea and La Villa Restaurant with mood music. At nightfall, a giant dance floor is set up outside with live music... You can even dance on the tables!
The Playboy Club (15 place Georges Clemenceau – 64200 Biarritz) is a historic nightclub, opened in 1963.
