Where to have brunch?
There are plenty of brunch spots in Paris. But for us, our favourite menu is at the chic brunch of the hôtel particulier Montmartre, in the 18th arrondissement.
At noon or 2:30 pm, enjoy fresh products (eggs are produced by two hens living on site, just like honey with hives at the bottom of the garden), in a warm, refined setting. The added extra? There’s a library available where you can read quietly while waiting for delicious food.
Hôtel Particulier Montmartre, 23, avenue Junot, Pavillon D, 75018 Paris
Where can you have an intimate dinner?
A tasty dinner prepared by a winner of Top Chef is impressive, right?
For an intimate dinner, the "bistronomique" Galopin is the ideal place: located in the 10th arrondissement, the decor is simple but charming, and the seven-course menu is 48 euros. This is great value for money.
Le Galopin, 34 rue Sainte-Marthe, 75010 Paris
Where can I get a great view?
You could end up at the restaurant of the Eiffel Tower, or even on the Champs-Elysées. But we found more original, and just as impressive: the Kong, a bar restaurant that offers a varied menu in an exceptional setting with a particularly stunning view.
Under a kind of high glass dome, you look over the capital’s 1st arrondissement and enjoy brunch or dishes ranging from 20 to 40 euros. And the decor is designed by Philippe Starck himself…
Kong, 1 rue du Pont Neuf, 75001 Paris
Where to have lunch in a rush?
You are in a hurry, but you want to eat quality - where do you go? This is possible at Eat My Truck, a food truck offering "gourmet" hot dogs in Paris.
The products are refined, the recipes original, and they even offer to come and treat your guests at your wedding... Fun and delicious!
Eat My Truck, 14 rue du Moulin Vert, 75014 Paris
Where to have an unusual time?
We have found an unusual place perfect for smaller budgets: Yello's, a light therapy café.. Surfing the "healthy" wave, it's amazing and the concept is really innovative. So take advantage of organic, local produce while testing the Luminette® glasses that fight the blues of Seasonal Affective Disorder.
And for those who want to work in a soothing atmosphere, the Wi-Fi connection and electrical outlets are really welcome!
Yello’s, lichttherapiecafé, 58 rue La Fayette, 75009 Parijs
Where to find the best chocolate?
Our address offers excellent and above all, very beautiful chocolate ...Patrick Roger is a sculptor of cocoa, and exhibits his creations over three floors in the 8th arrondissement.
What is great about this concept is that there is no frustration during the discovery of the sculptures: we know we will be able to taste this chocolate and buy a small stock as a souvenir... So this is all pleasure!
Chocolaterie Patrick Roger, 3, place de la Madeleine, 75008 Paris
Where can you find a good tea room?
If there is one of the finest tea rooms in Paris, it is the le Toraya, specialist in Japanese pastry and drinks.
The clean and modern decor allows only relaxation and pleasure. Enjoy a Haru no Yume with a traditional tea, and escape to the land of the Rising Sun on the spot.
Toraya, 10 rue Saint-Florentin 75001 Paris.
Where can you have the best pasta?
Italian eating has become a classic. But eating in a really good Italian restaurant which offers traditional pasta and recipes, is rarer. Then go to chez Baffo, in the 4th arrondissement.
The chef, Fabien, guides the quality of his produce, from wine to panna cotta to mozzarella, and everything comes either directly from Italy or from France. And if you ever want organic and gluten free pasta, do not hesitate to ask, Fabien will prepare them with pleasure.
Baffo, 12 Rue Pecquay, 75004 Paris
Where can you find a concert restaurant?
Many concert-restaurants in Paris are popular. But if there is one in which you’re sure to have fun, and enjoy a drink or a good meal while rubbing shoulders with some talented comedians, it is the Paname Art Café.
Pay for your drink and enjoy the shows in the basement quietly with friends: Norman, Mathieu Madenian, Kevin Razy and many other young artists have been there...
Le Paname, 14, rue de la Fontaine au Roi, 75011 Paris
Where’s the best market?
This is probably the most difficult choice for us: many markets here are excellent. The Batignolles market, of course, Les Enfants Rouges... but also the one on rue Mouffetard.
The latter is a real pearl in the heart of the 5th arrondissement. The multitude of product choices, the street’s picturesque architecture and the great shops there make this market a real pleasure to wander through, and typically Parisian.
Marché Mouffetard, Rue Mouffetard (vlak bij het kruispunt met de rue Jean Calvin), 75005 Parijs
