La Rochelle Station

La Rochelle station (or La Rochelle-Ville station) is a railway station in the Charente-Maritime department. It offers many services, mainly within the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, but also across France.

The station stands out for its imposing clock tower, listed as a historic monument, as are its façade and the mosaics in its main hall. People with reduced mobility can use the "Accès Plus" service at the station. Very well located, the station is around 500 metres from the old town and the harbour. To get some fresh air while you wait for your train, you can visit the nearby Parc de la Gare, a popular spot in La Rochelle with a children's play area.

In terms of intermodality, the station is easy to reach within the metropolitan area. You can take the Yélo bus network, with many lines stopping at the station every day.

The station has 5 tracks and 3 platforms and is served by TGV INOUI and OUIGO high-speed trains, as well as INTERCITÉS trains and TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire trains.

La Rochelle station offers TGV INOUI and OUIGO journeys to Paris Montparnasse. INTERCITÉS trains run daily return services to Nantes and Bordeaux. On the TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine network, many towns are served, including Rochefort, Saintes, Niort, Cognac, Jarnac and Angoulême.

The station is next to the bus station, which offers a variety of coach journeys. Departmental coaches on the Keolis network provide connections to the Île de Ré and the Île d'Oléron via Rochefort.
