Avoriaz in the Alps

Take the TGV to Thonon-les-Bains in the heart of the Alps! A shuttle from the train station can take you straight to Avoriaz. In less than an hour and a half, you’ll be at the foot of the ski hill! How fantastic is that?

With a resort named “the Doors of the Sun”, you’re bound to have a good time in Avoriaz! It is home to more than 600 km of ski runs, plenty to keep you busy. The resort also offers other activities such as dog sledding!

Les Arcs in the Savoie

This is one of the easiest ski resorts to reach by train! If you’re headed for Les Arcs, you can practically walk out your door dressed for the slopes! Just hop on a TGV that will take you straight to Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From the train station, an inclined railway will take you to the foot of the ski hill in just 7 minutes.

This is paradise for avid skiers! The Paradiski resort offers 262 ski runs spread across 425 km! And there is something for everyone. Craving some fresh air? Take the time to admire the scenery. Looking for a rush? Try forest skiing or freeriding!

La Bresse in the High Vosges

Just a few steps away from Gérardmer, you’ll find yourself in the midst of the High Vosges! Welcome to La Bresse, a very easy-to-reach ski resort. Just take the train to the Remiremont station, then board a regional bus that will take you to the heart of the resort in less than an hour.

At La Bresse, you can choose between a relaxing getaway or an athletic adventure! If you want to let loose, you can enjoy the 220 hectares dedicated to skiing in the heart of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. If you prefer to relax, head to the stunning pool complex that will delight children and adults alike.

L’Alpe d’Huez in the Alps

Located just a few kilometers away from the capital of the Alps, it couldn’t be simpler to reach Alpes d’Huez! Take the train to Grenoble. Before you know it, you’ll be boarding the shuttle that will take you to the ski resort in less than an hour and a half.

And Alpes d’Huez has a lot going for it. Perched at an elevation of1860 meters, the ski resort enjoys 300 days of sun per year, which we think is pretty incredible. Next, you can choose between skiing, snowboarding, sledding, relaxing or one of the many other outdoor activities available.

La Norma in the Savoie

La Norma, which is just 6 km from a train station, is very accessible! You’ll take a 4-hour ride on the TGV from Paris, then get off at the Modane train station, where a shuttle will take you to the heart of the ski resort just 15 minutes away.

Why do we like this ski resort? Because it is built on a human level and the ski slopes extend all the way to Valfréjus, offering a wide variety of decor for slaloming down the hills! With its northwestern exposure, the snow lasts all winter long: high-quality snow guaranteed.

Montgenèvre in the High Alps

Contrary to what you may think, Montgenèvre, located not far from Italy, is easy to reach by train! Take the TGV to the Oulx train station where a shuttle scheduled to arrive just after your TGV will take you to the resort in just 15 minutes! You can also take the train to Briançon, where there are regular shuttles to the resort.

If you are hesitating this winter between skiing from morning til night or being coddled, Montgenèvre has something for everyone! This skiers’ paradise stretches from France to Italy and is also a perfect place for a bit of self-care with pools designed for both family fun and relaxation.

Font Romeu in the Pyrenees

How about a ski trip to the Pyrenees? Just take the train to Perpignan. From there, you can catch a €1 shuttle to Font Romeu. With the 160 bus, you’ll see plenty of scenery!

Whether you are travelling with friends or family, you are sure to love it here! The ski resort has runs for beginners and experienced skiers alike. There are also many other activities for non-skiers, such as a nighttime ropes course. In terms of gastronomy, you can savour a mix of raclette, tartiflettes, and Catalan specialities. Yum!
